Artist Bio

 

My work is grounded in ecology and employs spatial and physical constructions to question the boundaries between built and natural environments. My practice covers many extremes, from analog hands-on craft such as clay, glass, bronze and wood, to computation, and living materials (mycelium-based bio-composites, SCOBY). I am especially interested in the broad and often forgotten historical precedents set by precursory cultures -from ancient times through the modernity-  and their impact on our current cultural climate.
