This project renews the existing boathouse of Columbia University in Inwood, New York.  The building is carefully placed under the hill, following the curvature of the topography.  The two levels come together to allow for the best circulation outside the building for the trucks to load and unload the boats. The ground floor includes classrooms and office spaces for the coaches and the boat storage on the other side for the rowers. The second level inhabits more private areas like the gym and the locker rooms with a view looking over to the water. The different programs are carefully arranged to enhance the quality of everyday circulation for the users.
