The existing affordable housing blocks of Mill Brook Houses does not serve anything for its community other than fenced green areas. With the challenge of keeping the existing blocks in place, this design carefully explores a new way to connect the site back to the city to create a meaningful neighborhood for its community. The ground floor now includes nail salons to delis to enhance the communal life and to create an everlasting sustainable environment.
