ALEJANDRO AVAKIAN
BUENOS AIRES
Alejandro Avakian, born in Buenos Aires in 1959 to an Armenian family, initially studied Economics and Biology before discovering his passion for painting at age 27. After his training at Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredón under Osvaldo Attila, he made his own way hifted away from academia to pursue a more personal, expressionist style. His work, often marked by fading figures and intense expression, has been shaped by his travels, with exhibitions in Barcelona, Paris, and Buenos Aires that established his reputation. Most recently, his career reached an international stage with his participation in Gallery Arte Azulejo’s booth at SCOPE Art Show during Art Basel Miami 2022.
